** Scroll down to last post for latest updates and price cuts **

Been meaning to add a DVD gear/Electronics section to the site for a while and a deal's just came along that's spurred me into creating the first page. I'll only be featuring kit that has received 'Best Buys' and 5 star reviews as much as possible.

Don't think it'll last too long but Sharp.co.uk are offering a £500 off voucher for the incredibly well reviewed Aquos LC42XD1EA 42" HD Ready LCD TV bringing the price down to a much more affordable (as these screen sizes with similar features go) £799.

Check out the page I've put together at the link below for more details of the discount code, pictures, links to reviews etc. There's also tons of customer reviews on the Sharp site if you scroll down.

    Sharp Aquos LC42XD1EA LCD TV

Currently in stock at time of writing but if it goes out of stock it's worth checking back in a hour or two as they continually update stock levels and has been going in and out of stock all day.

    Thankful People: robtallica, james

Curse you Grant - been looking at a long-term replacement for my Thomson 30" non-HD LCD set - can't wait to plug in PS3/360/Wii combo.

Gonna have to look at my finances to see if I can grab one of these and pay for all the up-coming Xmas pressies AND MOT, Insurance and Car tax for my car all due on 1/1/08:face-cry:

    Great post.

Not bad deal eh? A 42" screen in full HD really starts to properly live up to the idea of home cinema. Tempted also but have to keep reminding myself too that both my wallet and my living room probably aren't big enough for it just now :face-straight:

Some good news on the LCD TV front if you haven't seen the ad on the search pages yet...

The folks at Sharp.co.uk really liked the DVD Collections page for the 42" LCD TV so have decided to give us an exclusive discount voucher for their 46" Aquos LCD, that takes a mighty £900 off their current price! :face-cool:

The £900 discount sounds great but doesn't exactly make it £900 cheaper than the next best price. What it does do is take it down to a good £150 or so lower than the next cheapest price online at Richer Sounds who are usually hard to beat pricewise anyway.

The code's been given exclusively for DVD Collections members and visitors so you won't find this deal anywhere else. More info on the TV including reviews, specs and discount code here - Sharp Aquos LC42XD1EA Full HD LCD TV

Sharp have asked for it not to be posted on other websites so they can measure the response at DVD Collections so I'd appreciate if no one posted the code on any other websites or forums.

    TUR160HA Digital TV Recorder
I'm also designing a page for another exclusive code Sharp have given me, you can have a sneak peak before it's ready...

The TUR160HA Digital TV recorder which has been well reviewed from the info I'm gathering currently costs around £150 at most places and lets you record Freeview channels while watching another channel.

If you use the exclusive DVD Collections code 'dvdcpromo' at checkout then you can get it for £109 saving you £50 off the Sharp price!

    *30/11/07 now expired

Just a quick update on the Sharp TVs. The discount codes above are now discontinued but in the last week or two Sharp have dropped their prices by a further couple of hundred and within the last hour the 46" TV has now dropped to £699!

Although both sets are now around a year old they're both Full HD 1080p and have 5 star reviews pretty much across the board so they're quality TVs for HD and standard def viewing and a really good price.
