    With the season 3 box set recently released and with a current best price of £34.95 this upcoming boxset with all three seasons of Battlestar Galactica looks like a great deal at just over £11 more. Out on the 22nd of October.

    I'm currently half-way through watching the second season, having borrowed it from a friend. I'm looking to get my own copies though, not least because he doesn't have season three to lend to me, and also so I can watch it all again at some point!

    Are there any more details available for what will be in this set - will it be just all the episodes, or will this be the individual season sets in one box complete with the admittedly limited bonus features from the individual sets released so far? I've had a look online myself, and all I've found on play is an indication that this will include the mini-series that came before season one - which I already have on DVD.

    Just been looking about some more myself and could pretty much only find the limited listings on the merchant sites.

    Given that there's 3 discs in the individual season 1 box set and 6 in each of the Season 2 and 3 box sets it looks like there won't be any extra discs with the same total of 15 in this set.

    But then Play does list the miniseries being included so possibly that's just been added onto a series 1 disc and the rest of the box sets will be the same as the individual releases.

    Only guessing though so if anyone knows any more then your enlightenment is needed!

    Amazon's listing says 18 discs, but with no details about episodes or extras so not sure how reliable that figure is.

    Hmm, I've noticed that sometimes Amazon can be out of synch for listing the right amount of discs. It says '15 discs' on the pictured box set so unless they're selling an exclusive Amazon version then they might just have the wrong number down.

    Is that saying 15 discs? I thought that was the rating?

    If it's just 15 discs, I'd assume that isn't including the mini-series.

    Since I have the mini-series already that would be fine with me, and it should be easy for others to pick up cheaply. I got my copy in Fopp for £3. How I miss Fopp!!

    Ah yeh, I never thought about the 15 certificate. The listing at HMV has both 15 dvd mentioned in the title and a picture of a 15 certificate so could well be either.

    We just need one of those CIA computers from the movies that can zoom into low resolution pictures and see everything in perfect detail ;)

    Another one of Amazon's last-minute price-drops - down to 39.97 there now. Just when I'd said on the West Wing thread that £40 was the price I was waiting for for getting this, I find it's gone to just that price.

    So now I'd like to say I'm looking for the Complete Sopranos set to drop to £50, for Dundee to win promotion and for Kate Winslett to come over for Christmas. I'd take two out of three of those coming true actually as I'm not that fussed over the Sopranos. ;-)

    I could arrange a wish for you to have United reach the Scottish Cup final, if you like.

    Unfortunately my wish for Dundee to win the Scottish Cup would leave you disappointed by the end of cup final day, but you can't have everything. ;-)

    Do you think I've angered them now? Maybe that's why I've still not heard from Kate Winslett yet?

    Next thing I'll come home tonight to find everyone I know hanging suspended in the air and it'll be up to me and No-No (he's a small robot, you know) to save the day.

    I've just put the Ulysses 31 theme tune in my head for the rest of the day now. Not a bad price for this blast from my childhood past.

    £39.97 well spent if you ask me - I think I'll get the lot in HD from now on though, I've got up to season 2 so far.

    Btw lots of activity on the forum - I logged on a few hours back, then again now and bang!... the forum is - relatively speaking - on fire.

    Had gone up in price for a bit but back down to £39.97 again at Amazon with the next cheapest still ChoicesUK at £52.49.

    Still a great deal as the best price for Season 3 alone is still £33.97 at Amazon too.

    I know it's a fantastic price for the set - great value - top series too!

    nosebleed time in 3rd place but looks like we're going to lose barry robson our best player to celtic (newcastle rumours died down) in a couple of days so hope we can maintain it without him.

    Tipping you to take something off the reds on wednesday... I can always edit this post if it all goes pear shaped and Torres gets a hat trick!

    :face-cry: im ashamed to say i havent started watching battlestar yet, although thanks to a certain lovely guy i know, (revealing no names by the way people), im now the proud owner of season 1 and the mini series. so thanks for pointing out that its so cheap, as im going to have to buy this now as well. being the relative sci fi nerd that i am, im bound to fall in love with the show. :face-grin:

    That's actually quite a high price to me for Season 4, considering it's only half a season (10 episodes). I saw it on Sky, so I think I'll wait for it to drop to bargain levels.

    Can't recommend the Season 1-3 set highly enough though. It's the mini-series and 52 episodes of one of the best tv shows around just now. It was perhaps my best buy of last year.
