After a few too many late nights and not before time I can now finally release our brand new website Game Collections!

It's been fun to work on the design though and hopefully all the DVD Collections gamers will find it as useful as this site. You can compare game prices at over 30 UK retailers and will be kept up to date with any current discount codes too (or let me know if I'm missing any!)

You can search by platform (small bug that should be fixed tonight when you search within a platform and clock on next page - it goes to general search instead of staying within the platform results)

You can also compare prices for consoles and if you check the front page I'll be keeping it up to date with the top 10 games from the official UK games chart.

Let me know your thoughts, suggestions, feedback... hope you enjoy using it :-)

Thanks Grant- I dunno what to say :face-laugh: but nothing negative :face-devil:

The site looks amazing and will hopefully grow in the coming months- you've done an amazing job with this one (and the cashback one) so hopefully you'll be on Wikipedia soon :face-cool:

Upwards and onwards I say, so when will 'bookcollections.co.uk' be ready then?

LOL- I'm only joking- with the vast amount of top class visual enntertainment out there (DVDs and Games), who cares about books- I used to read a lot, I mean a lot before, but since about a year, I don't give a monkeys about books- I know there are many good reads out there, but it's all about my PS3, the next generation tower of power!!!

    Go dvdcollections.co.uk :face-cool:

That's great. I was just thinking how useful it'd be to be able to search for games as well as dvds.

But what it's missing is a forum like this one so that special offers can be posted. Rather than setting up a separate one, you could just make this one a joint one.

This is what I might get my little sister for Christmas:

Xbox 360 Arcade Console (256 MB Memory Unit) -
    £119.98 at Amazon

Comes with 2 wireless pads*, Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda* and also a disc including five Xbox LIVE® Arcade games, including PAC-MAN and UNO® and more.

*You have to add 'Xbox 360 Wireless Entertainment Pack (includes Xbox 360 Wireless Controller and Two Xbox 360 Games: Lego Indiana Jones, Kung Fu Panda)' to your basket, the cost is deducted at the checkout.

Also add one of 20 top games for an additional £10 (one title only) quoting code XBXGME10 at the checkout area when promted, choice of Pro Evo 09, Fifa 09, Dead Space, Fable 2, Far Cry 2, GTAIV and a few top titles.

Nice post Rob, looks like a fine deal with those extra games :)

Juice, thanks for forum suggestion. Think for now if we keep this thread the place to go for posting any game related bargains (while keeping the rest of the forum DVD focused) and we'll see how that goes.

A fairly decent deal on a console bundle from Amazon:
    Amazon PS3 Deal

The deal is - you buy the PS3 and get a free game and a free cable with the option of another game for only a tenner. Given that the console is at around £299 in the shops this is probably the best one I've seen:

PS3 Console with Little Big Planet game - £289
    Resistance 2 - £FREE
    HDMI Cable - £FREE
    Tomb Raider Underworld - £10
    Total - £299 for 3 games and a cable

    Not bad.

    Amazon PS3 Deal £283.79
Deal as shown above in Juice post
now with free Blu-Ray remote control
    and a bit cheaper

    80GB PS3 Console
    Free Game (Choice of 3)
    Free Blu-Ray remote
    Free HDMI Cable
    Plus option of:
    Game for £10 and/or
    Blu-Ray movie for £7

    EDIT:
As a word of caution none of the free games from Amazon UK
will be dispatched in time for Christmas
    :face-angry:

I guess trying to compete with Play:
    Play PS3 Bundles £289.99
The top 4 in the link come with:
    PS3 80GB Console
    2 Free games
(Little Planet + choice of 4: End War, Need For Speed: Undercover,
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Far Cry 2)
Free Blu-Ray film (300, I Am Legend or Batman Begins)
    Free Blu-Ray Remote control
So better deal in terms of value
You can get Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Far Cry 2 for £17.99 today only at Play (see above), so other 2 games option might be better value

    The Game PS3 Bundles £293.61
3 bundles at the top of the link
    PS3 80GB Console
    2 Free Games

The games from Amazon with their bundle deals are probably just out of stock - I've already received mine; got them a day or so after ordering. It probably depends on the game.

The console on the other hand may be more difficult - I didn't realise the Little Big Planet edition was a pre-order. It's supposed to be out tomorrow, but I got an email saying that the manufacturer has put the date back a little. I'm still expecting it by Christmas, but the later you order it, it seems the less likely it'll arrive on time.

    RE: Killzone 2 ^^

It's a brilliant game - even better online with a pal or two acting as a 'squad'.

The campaign mode is really good also but the story and characters are very thin - so much so I don't pay much attention to it. Rather similar in feel to Call of Duty 4(which is never a bad thing).

Stick it on 'veteran' mode in campaign mode when you first get it and it's a great challenge(Killzone 2 'veteran is equivalent to COD4 'hard' fyi), then venture online once you've mastered the (at first) tricky controls.

That's a great price for the Aerosmith GH game, it cost me £30 for the game alone upon release. Great fun those games. I'm loving Guitar Hero World Tour full band set, taking on the drums on expert level is a real challenge!

The Metallica game is due out on the 28th of March - same day as the 2nd of the o2 Arena shows of which I'll of been to both by then(went 2nd March aswell).

Some American stores are offering a free extra kick pedal with copies of the game, I may invest in an American copy as all PS3 games are region free and I should suppose some of the expert level kick drumming is alot easier with a pair of pedals - as opposed to just the solitary one. I've found alot of expert level kick drumming is tricky when you have 2 or 3 kicks close together.

Add me on PSN if you ever fancy it, my PSN handle is on my profile - believe me Killzone 2 is fantastic, wipes the floor with Resistance 1(not played 2).

Can't claim I got this uniquely (thanks HUKD) but just tried this code at both shops and works fine. Good thing is there doesn't seem to be a minimum spend for it at GameStation at the moment so makes a nice discount on any budget titles.

Go an email from The Hut promising mighty fine deals on games on DVDs as part of a May Madness promotion starting tomorrow. It says prices will be updated overnight so I'm assuming the prices on this link will go down, here's hoping...

From doing a few searches online it looks like PS3 games are region free but for online multiplayers you could be locked into playing with online servers that are from that game's region. Not sure about Wii games but looks as if they are too from a brief search.
