A long, expensive arduous task in the making...it's finally landed.
Anything you like, in store prices, other items such as CD's and videogames etc etc,(legal) discount codes, personal reviews, jokes, (non obscene) funny pics, random musings and chit chat... you get the idea anything as long as it's interesting, funny or just a plain good old fashioned...
DEAL!
To start the ball rolling, will Grant believe I spent £10,000 on this thread's production?
That's what I told him when I asked for my required funding(and expenses), doubt the boss'll actually read the misc thread...
Please bare in mind I had to buy one of these...

Worth every penny!
Actually as I mentioned personal reviews in the 1st post I'm a little bit worried about this(or next) weekend, someone told me the new X-Files movie got 2 stars in a national paper!
I'm now filled with trepidation when beforehand I was really looking forward to it.
Fingers crossed though and you'll get my honest review right here asap - in the all new no expenses spared misc thread!
Wow ! £10k inc. troll spray when you only had to continue the "General deals" thread - hope grant's gonna dock your pay ?
though perhaps not 'cause a fresh post is probably a good idea - or perhaps a separate category should be set up for "other bargains " ?
I guess a new broom sweeps clean
Besides it gave me a reason to demand fresh expenses - so keep it quiet please Jayne
OK... having read all of the above I now feel myself duty-bound to lower the tone (Only slightly ~ No panicking please!)
Now I'm one of these unfortunate souls who gets sent a load of 'jokey' emails and never has anywhere to share them. Definitely not to WORK! Id probably get sacked!
I now have the ultimate space to share the 'humorous' stuff!
Oh and sorry if any of these are 'old' I just pass on what I'm sent people, so no blaming the messenger!
Here goes...
Two old friends were just about to tee off at the first hole of their local golf course when a guy carrying a golf bag called out to them, 'Hey, do you mind if I join you? My partner didn't turn up.'
'Sure,' they said, 'you’re welcome.' So they started playing and enjoyed the game and the company of the newcomer.
Part way round the course, one of the friends asked the newcomer, 'So, what do you do for a living?
'I'm a hit man', was the reply. 'You're joking!' was the response. 'No, I'm not,' he said, reaching into his golf bag and pulling out a beautiful sniper's rifle with a large telescopic sight. 'Here are the tools of my trade.'
'That's a beautiful telescopic sight,' said the other friend, 'may I take a look? I think I might be able to see my house from here.' So he picked up the rifle and looked through the sight in the direction of his house.
'Yeah, I can see my house all right. This sight is fantastic. I can see right in the window. Wow, I can see my wife in the bedroom. Ha Ha, I can see she's naked! Wait a minute, that's my neighbour in there with her... He's naked, too!'
He turned to the hit man and asked, 'How much do you charge for a hit?'
'I'll do a flat rate for you, one thousand quid every time I pull the trigger.'
'Can you do two for me, now?'
'Sure, what do you want?'
'First, shoot my wife, she's always been mouthy, so shoot her in the mouth.'
'Then shoot the neighbour, he's a friend of mine, so just shoot his pecker off, to teach him a lesson.'
The hit man picked up the rifle and took aim, standing perfectly still for a few minutes.
'Well, are you going to do it, or not?' asked the friend impatiently.
'Just be patient,' said the hit man calmly, 'I think I can save you a grand here...'

Oh. And one more thing whilst I'm here. Who exactly are the trolls in this site? You bought the spray, I'm interested in who its going to be used on!
Not sure who the trolls are, the A.C.'s broke in the towers so been using it as deodorant

4 Star Review - What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision
4 Star Review - Stuff.tv
Speaking as someone who watches his DVDS upscaled to 1080p I can't recommend having an upscaling DVD/Blu-ray player enough. (the above Sony Blu-ray player does this to all standard DVDS btw)
A lot of my SD(standard definition) DVD/box sets nearly come out Blu-ray quality - I was amazed how good a load of the modern U.S. TV series in particular look e.g. LOST, Firefly, Sopranos etc. Some older shows such as very early X-files or 60's, 70's, 80's sitcoms won't look much better - even the (grainy) modern Battlestar Galactica doesn't come out all that great, though the grain effect etc on some is intentional so bear that in mind.
If you've got a 720p/1080i/1080p TV you should seriously give one a try. You should see the colours and definition I get when I slip in my (remastered) 'The Prisoner' DVDS
If you don't want any films thrown in this is also a decent deal for a top notch Blu-ray disc player, the prices are dropping like crazy:

Samsung/Sony?
Same as the ones Rob posted above all at £179.99 now?
Apart from the Sony players coming with 4 free Blu-Ray films?
Rob?
Sony BDP-S300 - Blu-Ray Disc Player £179.99 Amazon UK
1080P Full HD
Plus 4 free Blu-ray discs! (via redemption)

Samsung BD-P1500/XEU - Blu Ray Disc Player £179.99 Amazon UK

Then there’s this one:
SONY BDP-S300 Blu-Ray Disc player HDMI Upscalling Full HD 1080p
£239.99 at Amazon UK
So take it the others above don’t play standard DVDs/
dont upscale but this one does?

The £240 sony model is identical to the sony model with the 4 free films Jake. Both are the Sony BDP-S300 model, the cheaper option being a promotion - hence the 4 free films(via redemption) too. It's just dropped by a further £13!!! Outstanding value alongside the PS3 option(which I chose)
Both Sony and Samsung players play DVD's and upscale DVD's at the full range - 720p/1080i/1080p - as long as you got a HD capable TV go for it.
Upscaling DVD's is a standard requirement of Blu-ray players now. Even my PS3 upscales my DVD's to 1080p - my Xbox 360 even does it!
You gotta see how good LOST or Firefly look upscaled - awesome
Me personally would be clever and do this.

I've used richer sounds alot and never had any problems at all
Cheers

Great advice Weller, clearly a man in the know.
It's £200 for Sony BDP-S300 with 4 free films offer at richersounds - £169.99 after discount according to Weller.

Wii Zapper & Links Crossbow Training - £14.99 at HMV
Nintendo Wii
Next best is £17.01 at Amazon.co.uk
Features:
* Includes Wii Zapper and Link's Crossbow Training
* In target-shooting rounds, players shoot bull'seyes as they pop up on the screen. In early stages, targets are stationary. As the game difficulty increases in later levels, the targets move.
* In defender rounds, players remain stationary but can look and aim in all directions sometimes even in a full 360-degrees by aiming off screen.
* In ranger rounds, players can move throughout the level using the control stick and aim anywhere they want by aiming the Wii Zapper wherever they want to look.
The Wii Remote and Nunchuk both take on a new feeling when placed within the Wii Zapper. In Link's Crossbow Training players use the Wii Remote in the Wii Zapper to aim at targets on the screen, with the Nunchuk controlling movement. On the Wii Remote, players simply press down the trigger (the B Button) to fire, or continue the pressure for a more powerful shot. They can also re-position themselves, turning in different directions by aiming the pointer off-screen. On the Nunchuk the Z-Button acts as a zoom function for the camera so that the shot is completely on target.
Link's Crossbow Training sees each player take on the role of Link in a series of exciting and fast-paced challenges set in the world of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Players can get accustomed to the Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training and practice Target Shooting as well as the Defender and Ranger modes, ensuring an action-packed experience in numerous stages spread over nine levels. The object of each stage is to achieve the highest score before the time limit expires.
Utilising the innovative Wii Zapper allows players to take aim and fully immerse themselves into the game in a completely new way!
Cheers Rob, great price for a brilliant game/control. Can't tell you many hours my family played this last Christmas, way too addictive!
